Irrometer Sensors

The Irrometer WaterSwitch is an add-on product for Rain Bird (and other manufacturers) controllers that works with existing valves or controllers to improve irrigation efficiency based on plant demand. The module will prevent irrigation cycles by signaling the controller’s sensor circuit or interrupting the solenoid power, when the soil moisture status is wetter than the adjustable set point. The kit includes one or two moisture sensors and has nine moisture set points allowing for a wide range of variation in plant and soil type. An indicator light flashes to show status.

Rain Bird Line Surge Protector

Rain Bird LSP (Line Surge Protector) are designed for use with Rain Bird decoder based irrigation systems. This item protects controllers, decoders and solenoid valves from electrical surges along the signal cable. Each LSP will need to be connected to an earth rod supplied separately.

Recommended for installation every 150m or 8 stations along the irrigation signal cable.

Rain Bird Maxi Ground Plate

Rain Bird MGP-1 is used in conjunction with the Rain Bird MSP-1 to proved additional protection for the Rain Bird ESP-LXD, Site Control, Stratus LT, Stratus II, Nimbus II, Rain Bird IC and other decoder based irrigation control systems. To be installed directly after the irrigation signal cable enters 'the field'; for specific installation instructions please refer to the Rain Bird installation instructions.

Rain Bird decoder technology long-since proven on golf courses around the world, Rain Bird decoders provide "best-in-class" field control on centrally controlled 2-wire irrigation systems. Installed underground and featuring simple, low-cost wiring, decoders are an aesthetically pleasing, full-featured, economical option for reliable in-field control.

A simple wiring configuration and absence of protective enclosures keeps installation and maintenance costs low. Rain Bird decoders are a “true lower than 30 volt” system that utilize a two-wire path of 14-gauge wire connecting the central control system, decoders and valves or valve-in-head sprinklers.

With all electronic components fully sealed within a water‑tight enclosure and buried underground, damage from floods, frost, rodents or vandals is virtually eliminated. Rain Bird decoders are an especially good choice for flood plains.

Rain Bird Flow Sensors

Rain Bird flow sensors enable you to capitalize on the advantages of Flow Management functionality from controllers and central control. Use Rain Bird Flow Sensors with Rain Bird Maxicom², SiteControl and IQ central control applications, or in standalone systems using Rain Bird ESP-LXIVM, ESP-LXIVM PRO, ESP-LXD, ESP-LXME2 PRO and ESP-LXMEF controllers.

The FG100 Flow sensor currently only works with the ESP-ME3 Controller.

Ultrasonic Flow Sensors

The winner of the Irrigation Association 2022 New Product Contest, Rain Bird's Ultrasonic Flow Sensors (UFS) represent the best in flow sensing technology for irrigation, sending flow data to central control or stand-alone controller systems for precise and accurate flow monitoring. 

The Ultrasonic Flow Sensors use ultrasonic waves to sense flow rate, as opposed to the impeller (paddle wheel) design of traditional flow sensors. This enables the Ultrasonic Flow Sensors to read a wider flow range, eliminates the typical straight-pipe requirements of standard flow sensors, and allows the sensor to remain installed during winterization with pressurized air blowout.

Rain Bird flow sensors enable you to capitalize on the advantages of Flow Management functionality from controllers and central control. Use Rain Bird Flow Sensors with Rain Bird Maxicom², SiteControl and IQ central control applications, or in standalone systems using Rain Bird ESP-LXIVM, ESP-LXIVM PRO, ESP-LXD, ESP-LXME2 PRO and ESP-LXMEF controllers.
